Warmth in the Winter
This year, Hello Auto Group partnered with Child and Youth in Transition program within the San Diego Unified School District for an event called “Warmth in the Winter.” An event to give children and their families presents to help them this holiday season. San Diego Unified School District is the second largest district in the region, catering to over 121,000 students. Understanding the diverse challenges these students face, ranging from homelessness to military connections, foster care, refugee, immigrant backgrounds, and even those in juvenile justice facilities, the need for support and care becomes clear. Child and Youth in Transition serves as a vital support system, extending help to these students and their families during challenging times. Recognizing the necessities for the colder months, they highlighted needing jackets, gloves, beanies, toys, and gift cards to bring warmth and joy to families facing hardships. Hello Auto Group stepped forward contributing over 223 essential items. Hello arrived at the organization’s facility in three vehicles filled with boxes. Among these contributions were puffer jackets, sports equipment like basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, toys like Barbie’s and dolls, gloves, beanies, umbrellas, and 20 gift cards at $100 each from Target. The efforts of Hello Auto Group and Child and Youth in Transition are beyond material contributions but give a sense of belonging, care, and warmth within the San Diego community. Child and Youth in Transition were so grateful for this year’s donations and expressed how much these families will appreciate these items. They explained that they are making over 100 family Christmas baskets, helping over 350 individuals. Hello Auto Group dedication to making a meaningful difference and the Child and Youth in Transition program’s unwavering support stand as an inspiring testament to keep helping those who need it most. This holiday season, Hello Auto Group and Child and Youth in Transition collaboration has brought warmth and support extended to the students and families of the San Diego Unified School District.
