Hello Auto Group partnered with Veterans Village of San Diego for the annual Stand Down event. For three impactful days, Stand Down brought together an encampment, and its goal is to guide veterans towards services that could rapidly dismantle barriers in their lives. Veterans were provided; three meals daily, hygiene items, haircuts, clothing/shoes, medical, legal, mental health, veterinary services, and substance use concerns. Hello’s generously donated over 5,000 dollars and contributed their time through volunteer efforts. Hello staff helped the veterans by assisting them in choosing clothing, shoes, and socks. They also had Hello volunteers at the security booths to ensure a smooth check-in process. The staff expressed how they loved this event and had the opportunity to interact with the veterans to hear their stories. Through the eyes and words of the veterans, the true impact of Stand Down became evident. So many Testimonies were shared on how the encampment is making a difference by helping bring the community together to help our hero’s, who have done so much for our country. The event provided them with resources and a sense of belonging and purpose. Many of the veterans felt seen. Stand Down was a collective effort in support, volunteers, donations, and partnerships. The event was a huge success in touching the lives of 564 veterans, family members, 40 children, and 30 pets. Each day, 1,500 meals and other critical services were served to restore dignity and stability to the veterans in need. Veteran’s Stand Down was a testament to what is possible when a community unites for a common cause.
